Creating your Wellbeing Toolkit
We hope you’re enjoying the resources and ideas on the Wellbeing Suite. We designed this site with the idea that creating a library of resources would give individuals the power to choose and engage with practices and tools that are unique to them and speak their language. But what do you do once you find things you find helpful?
Wellbeing Toolkit
Imagine a toolbox within which you could store everything that you find helps your wellbeing. This is the idea behind a wellbeing toolkit. As you use this site we hope you’ll find ideas that help you but these will be different for each of us - because we are unique and so it makes sense that practices that help us are unique to us too.
The Wellbeing Suite is designed to take into account your unique personality. Not all of us will like everything here, that’s ok. This will depend on the way we process information (are you a words, sounds or images person) or our experiences (ideas will connect because you relate to them.). We also need to be aware of our own strengths and weaknesses - what are the areas where we know we can struggle a bit with our health and wellbeing? It’ll make sense that we find ideas that connect with those areas we need help in.
To begin this process consider:
What makes you tick?
What are the areas of health and wellbeing I can sometimes struggle in?
What are the areas where I do well and I have strengths?
You may also want to think about the pattern of your day, your concentration spans and the ways and things you enjoy. This will all help you choose the tools for your toolkit.
Getting started
As you use this site why not:
Try new things and see what works for you. If something doesn’t connect don’t worry and move on, but if it does help practice it regularly and make it a part of your weekly routine.
Note down the practices and ideas that help you.
Sometimes it’s helpful to plan. We’ve created this this Wellbeing Plan PDF to help you. Why not download and use it. A picture of the plan is also below.
Then as you go on, add new ideas to your list as you find they help you. There are hundreds of resources on the site so start slowly and with the areas of the site that connect with you and then build. Each week we’ll send you an email which features different areas of the site so you can find your way around.
